An increasing number of agencies, organizations, and groups in our communities are committing to respond to trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to improve our surroundings where we all live, learn, work, and play.
As the public thinks about how best to promote resilient, thriving communities, we need to consider the role of community frameworks and structural forces both in contributing to trauma and promoting resiliency. By engaging community leaders, partners, and stakeholders across the community, we can advocate for systemic changes that can prevent trauma, mitigate its impact, and interrupt its transmission from one generation to the next.
